Spinal decompression’s main objective is to assist in overall healing of the spinal alignment by nourishing the disc that has been compromised due to stresses that has been placed on because of spinal imbalance, trauma and or deconditioning spinal columns. Spinal decompression table will allow significant distractive forces which can create negative pressure in the centre of the disc therefore creating vacuum affect there by creating nutrients and water into the disc. After age 14, the disc does not have direct blood supplies for nutrient therefore it relies on process of diffusion, however with prolong restriction to the vertebrae due spinal misalignment this ability for the disc to naturally receive nutrients through diffusion is compromised. We believe that spinal decompression will be effective to those patients who have disc related damages such as degeneration, herniation and disc protrusion, however this treatment is only effective when the body is prepared and ready for the distractive forces. Achieving spinal balance as well as muscular balance is very important before implementing the spinal decompression otherwise the specificity of applying the distractive forces the vertebrae will altered because of abnormal angle of the pull due to spinal positions and muscular imbalances.
